Switched Filters
*NEW* Switched Filters capabilities brochure
Switched filter banks consist of SPNT input and output switches, N filter channels and a driver subassembly. The filter to be inserted between the input and output port is selected by applying the appropriate logic to the control pins of the driver. The driver provides the interface to send control signals to the switches to connect the correct filter. This arrangement allows the individual channels to achieve any filtering function that could be offered in isolation. The overall insertion loss is that of the switches plus the filter loss. The on/off isolation is determined by the switch.
The switched filter bank offers advantages in size, performance and cost over discrete switches and filters. The integrated approach reduces VSWR interaction between the switches and filters resulting in lower passband insertion loss and ripple.
